I’m not a fan of the Valentine’s Day. In short, if you love somebody, you show it everyday not only this one day of the year. And the amount of heart-shaped stuff and the red colour all around may cause some serious irritation, not to mention the fact the the feeling has become nothing more than the commercial hysteria.
Yet, I quite like this action. Maybe because it comprised much attention, teamwork, and – judging by the description of the makers – enthusiasm and happiness. Then – well done. It was the seventh action concluded by Valencia Urban Knitting – a fun group uniting the old and the young, man and women – yarnbombing hotheads.
And here’s what the group had to say about the action:
“For this action we have chosen the color red and some banks that we wanted to give them warmth. So on 11 February at 11 am we were willing to fight the cold temperatures with illusion and why not! with wool.”
