This design is probably one of the most legendary album covers ever created – anyone interested in music and/or deisgn will know the cover of “The Dark Side of the Moon” by Pink Floyd.
This March the musicians anf fans celebrated the 40th anniversary of the legendary and groundbreaking album. To mark this occassion the official Pink Floyd page published a series of variations of the prism artwork, all created by the long-time Pink Floyd graphic genius, friend and collaborator, Storm Thorgerson. He was an innovator in the field of albums’ artwork of the 1960s and 1970s, combining photography with retouche techniques, which at those times was still a new method.
Sadly, the creator has passed away in mid April after a long battle with cancer. His incredible designs will remain forever.
