Street art of Alex Senna at Miami Art Basel

First, a few words of introduction and explanation to those, who have no clue – as I did – what Art Basel is. I also had to do some reading to find out about this massive art fair.

This is the statement from their official website:

Art Basel stages the world’s premier Modern and contemporary art shows, held annually in in the heart of Europe; Miami Beach at the nexus of North and South America; and Hong Kong, the gateway to Asia Founded by gallerists in 1970, Art Basel has been a driving force in supporting the role that galleries play in the nurturing of artists, and the development and promotion of visual arts.

This year’s edition runs Thursday, December 5, through Sunday, December 8, at the Miami Beach Convention Center, with a preview day on Wednesday, December 4 – that would be today. More than 250 galleries from around the world will be showing work.

Since 2002, Art Basel Miami Beach has brought tens of thousands of art enthusiasts and collectors to this tropical paradise. In the past few years, the crowds have started to spread to areas off “The Beach” to Miami’s flourishing art districts like Wynwood and the Design District.

It is Wynwood where a Brasilian street artist and illustrator Alex Senna painted several of his signature black and white adorable murals or bird tags. Here are the photos of this delicate pieces.
