I have never been to Liverpool and it turns out only flying into/out from its airport can be fun – in particular to music lovers. Liverpool’s airport honours its great son and is called John Lennon Airport – while for some people this might be plain obvious, I admit I only found about it a couple of days ago! I feel stupid for making this discovery so late so if you read this and feel – hey, she acts as though she just discovered America, I am sorry. You may well discontinue reading this.
What brought my attention to the John Lennon airport is that it actually features some decorations and items that remind of the great artists. They are actually quite varied: ranging from the statue of John in the departure hall (funded by Yoko Ono), a gigantic Yellow submarine outside the terminal and quotations from some of the Beatles’ songs. The airport’s slogan is also a quote from John’s probably most famous song “Imagine” and the logo is his picture, too. Here’s just some photos from the airport.. I found it really…heartwarming? Charming? Interesting at the least.
